NAWIC’s Dedication to Women’s Safety With Self-Defense Class

The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) is prioritizing women’s safety and hosted an impactful F2 Women’s Self-Defense class, and Schlouch Incorporated wants to voice its support. This two-hour hands-on workshop taught women how to recognize personal safety risks, avoid dangerous situations, and utilize practical physical techniques to escape unavoidable attacks.

Personal safety remains a critical priority for women across all industries. Schlouch Incorporated proudly supported NAWIC in bringing essential self-defense training to the community. By equipping women with the tools needed to protect themselves, NAWIC and Schlouch Incorporated are fostering a culture of safety, awareness, and empowerment. This women’s self-defense class offered practical strategies that participants can apply in their daily lives.

Empowering Women Through Practical Self-Defense

The Importance of Women’s Self-Defense

True women’s safety starts long before physical contact occurs. According to self-defense experts, 90 percent of self-defense involves recognizing risks to personal safety and taking steps to reduce those risks. Understanding situational awareness helps women avoid potentially dangerous environments.

Introducing F2 Women’s Self-Defense Training

To address these crucial safety needs, NAWIC is hosting a specialized two-hour training session run by F2 Women’s Self Defense. Founded in September 2015, the F2 program was created to educate women on their best options for protecting themselves against aggressors. The F2 program helps women tap into their natural strength and intuition.

 What Did the F2 Training Cover?Comprehensive Skill-BuildingComprehensive Skill-Building

Participants in the women’s self-defense class learned  simple yet effective strikes designed for worst-case scenarios. The curriculum emphasizes fist strikes, elbow strikes, knee strikes, and kicks. The primary goal of these physical techniques is not to engage in hand-to-hand combat, but to allow the victim to escape safely.

Expert Instructors: Fran Regan and Franca D’Agostino

The F2 program is led by Fran Regan and Franca D’Agostino. Fran Regan is a retired federal probation officer and defensive tactics instructor. Franca D’Agostino has over 25 years of experience teaching group fitness classes. Both founders are certified RAD instructors, having completed an intensive 30-hour national certification course.

Accessibility and Impact

The F2 training is engaging, impactful, and accessible for women of all fitness levels. To ensure a highly interactive and personalized environment, space for the NAWIC class was strictly limited to 25 participants.

Why This Training Matters

Addressing the Statistics

The founders of F2 Women’s Self Defense started the organization after confronting a dismal reality: one out of every four women will face an attack in her lifetime. Schlouch Incorporated and NAWIC believe that bringing awareness to these statistics is the first step toward proactive prevention.

Beyond Physical Techniques: Awareness and Confidence

While physical defense is a component of the class, the F2 program heavily emphasizes conveying strength and confidence through body language and vocal commands. Teaching women how to present a confident exterior drastically reduces the likelihood of becoming a target.
