Born from the tragedy of September 11, 2001, the Tunnel to Towers Foundation carries forward a legacy that refuses to be forgotten. Built on the mantra “While we have time, LET US DO GOOD,” the Foundation dedicates itself to supporting fallen and catastrophically injured first responders, military heroes, and their families — ensuring no family is left behind when the worst happens.

What Is the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Run and Walk?

The Tunnel to Towers Run & Walk Series was created to honor FDNY firefighter Stephen Siller, who gave his life on September 11, 2001. After learning of the attacks, Siller strapped on 60 pounds of gear and ran through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers — a final act of courage that defines the spirit of the event to this day.

The Boyertown 5K covers approximately 3.1 miles and is open to runners, walkers, and anyone who wants to experience it. No competitive times. No podium. Just community, remembrance, and purpose.

Important Details for Participants

Packet Pickup

Pick up your race packet at Boyertown Park on Friday, May 15th between 4–6 PM, or on race morning, May 16th, between 7–9 AM. Can’t make it yourself? Someone else can collect your packet with a copy of your registration receipt.

Day-Of Registration

Same-day registration opens at 7:00 AM. Note that T-shirts and race day swag are limited, so early registration is encouraged. Online registration stays open until race day registration closes.

On the Course

• Bib numbers must be displayed on the front of your outermost garment—no bib means no finish line.
• Fast runners (sub-6 min/mile pace) will be placed in the front corral, behind uniformed first responders.
• Water stations are available along the route and at the start/finish line.
• Strollers, wheelchairs, firefighter turnout gear, and military backpacks are all welcome.

Fundraising

Your registration fee does not count toward your fundraising goal. Once registered, you’ll receive instructions to set up a personal fundraising page and accept online donations. Donations are accepted up to six weeks after the event.
