BLANDON, PA, January 15, 2002 — Schlouch Incorporated has been awarded a design/build contract by Global Properties, King of Prussia, for the Forks Marketplace Shopping Center. Forks, a new grocery-anchored neighborhood retail center, is located near the intersection of Sullivan Trail and Old Mill Road in Forks Township, Northampton County.
The project is the development of remaining open land adjacent to the existing Forks Plaza Retail Center. The 22-acre site will consist of 86,800 sf of retail strip center and 93,700 sf of post-expansion space including a 54,000 sf Giant Food Store. Other tenants for the facility will be a bank, video store, hair salon, restaurant, and sandwich shop. Scope of the design/build project will include construction of a new public street, PennDOT improvements, installing a recreation trail and a landscaped buffer berm.
In addition, Schlouch is providing clearing and grubbing, survey/stakeout, demolition, blasting, rock removal, earthwork, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, water line, sediment/erosion control, roads, building pads, concrete, curbs, paving, landscaping and seeding. The project is scheduled for completion in the Summer of 2002.
Schlouch site coordinator for this project is Ron Gerber with Tony Fanelli as site foreperson and Kevin Christman as project coordinator/estimator. Rik Longacre is project designer.
